Tips for Choosing Your Roommate
|
Once your contract is complete, it’s time to find the perfect roommate! Roommate matching is bit like online dating, except to find the perfect roommate match!
To begin, create your Profile on your MyTropAccount. Be sure to include what your interests are, as well as your academic goals and hobbies. From their you can browse through other potential roommate matches and start talking to them. Once you are communicating with potential roommates, be sure to chat about your personal preferences for sleep, noise levels, neatness (or messiness!) and even the amount of personal time and space you need, to see if you would be a good match. For more hints, check out our Roommate Communication Tips and Tropicana’s “Choosing A College Roommate” blog. |
Parking Available for Purchase |
While your skateboard and bike will get you around the college town of Isla Vista, and the bus will transport you to SBCC, you may still wish to bring your car.
There are two parking options available at Tropicana Gardens:
- Covered Carports, located behind the building. Each space is numbered and assigned. $2,000 for the academic year.
- Assigned Parking, uncovered spaces behind Tropicana Gardens parallel to the carports. $1,500 for the academic year.
At Tropicana Del Norte, our UCSB residence hall two blocks away, there is additional parking available:
- Underground Garage parking, directly beneath the building, $1,250 for the academic year.
- Outside Parking, on the UCSB campus side of Tropicana Del Norte, $850 for the academic year.
Download the Parking Application and Parking Regulations, fill out and return with payment to secure a parking space for 2017-18. Parking spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
